One-click radiosity - the new Artlantis
Artlantis is a proven, standalone rendering application, widely recognized for its ease-of-use, speed and efficiency. Today, combining new technologies and new concepts, its developers Abvent have completely renewed the renderer. This major evolution of rendering marks the beginning of three new Artlantis products which will be launched gradually during the next few months.
As a first step, Abvent has released Artlantis R, billed as the ultimate tool to easily create high quality, still renderings. Preserving the same ease-of-use of the genuine renderer, Artlantis R brings new, innovative features. The customizable interface, with no limitation during the preview, allows you to organize your work even on two screens. New concepts and technologies such as the Selective Display Acceleration, Postcards, and the tremendous new ray-tracing calculator: RayBooster™ or the unique Fast Radiosity™ engine makes Artlantis R a valuable companion in your work with virtual imagery.
As a scene manager, Artlantis R offers a simple drag & drop of objects, plants, and trees in the preview window so you can work out different scenarios and simulate real scenes in a fully virtual environment.
Three words characterize new Artlantis R
EASY |
Since Artlantis' birth, "ease-of-use" has been one it's most prominent keywords. From the real-time preview through the drag and drop of Shaders, Artlantis has always been recognized for its unparalleled user friendliness. |
FAST |
The tracking speed of your ideas, translating your visions into the computer's virtuality, is another key feature targeting by its creators. Artlantis R goes beyond the usual limits, and allows Radiosity activation even within the preview mode for an interactive real-time study. |
SPLENDID |
The astonishing realism of the images created, alongside the inventiveness and speed of Artlantis, liberate your ideas and give you the freedom to create, capture and develop. |
Artlantis R combines its tried and tested abilities with new brand of features and technologies. Here are some of the revolutionary enhancements.
| 1 |
The preview doesn't need tedious recalculating each time you switch to a new function. Each camera position can group independent settings for Heliodon, or lighting organization, background or foreground images, etc.
This way each camera position becomes a complete "folder" of all aspects of the current view.

At any time, you can save new "camera folders" as reminders of your project exploration: night or day, in summer or in winter, from inside or from the external landscape views, etc.
| 2 |
After importing your model in Artlantis, have you ever felt the need to "remodel" the 3D scene or to add some elements to it? Artlantis R allows you now to enrich the original model by dragging and dropping 3D objects directly into the preview. What's more, you can prepare your own objects and make unlimited object catalogs as well.

With Artlantis R, you can place 3D vegetation into your landscape: trees, plants, and flowers, which are seasonal, so the same file covers all flowering aspects of a plant across the whole calendar year.

Two new rendering engines are powering Artlantis R: Ray Tracing with RayBooster™, Hatch and FastRadiosity™; all of them are at only one-click away from your preview.
Lately, Artlantis users have been asking more and more for Radiosity within Artlantis. Deservedly too, because a final rendering with Radiosity nowadays has become a basic requirement for all renderers. Now you'll have Radiosity without setting complicated parameters and wasting time right up until the final rendering appears on your screen. Now you can have Radiosity already in the preview window with only one click?
Below is something special!
The following image was calculated with the Ray Tracing engine of Artlantis R. The scene is lightened only by a skylight, this indirect lighting effect of a Mediterranean sky after the sunset:

By clicking on the Radiosity button from the toolbar, you can easily reproduce reality in a fully virtual environment already in the preview:

and believe your eyes, this is attainable!:
