Graphisoft ArchiCAD 8 Scores Perfect 5 out of 5 Stars in CADALYST Magazine Review

This review marks the second consecutive year CADALYST has awarded Graphisoft a top rating for it's building information modeling software, ArchiCAD. "The new features of ArchiCAD®8 add some worthwhile improvements and enhancements to what was already probably the most mature and complete of the full-featured architectural building modeler products available," said Michael Dakan, contributing editor of CADALYST, in his review. ArchiCAD r2/v2 is Now Available

Based on valued user feedback, our development team has been working hard to fix the inconsistencies of ArchiCAD 8 R1/v1. Inconsistencies are often the case with noticeable advancements in software products. The result is the newly released ArchiCAD R2/v2 with greatly improved stability and robustness. In addition to improved performance, the ArchiCAD 8 r2/v2 maintenance release includes two bonus tracks. Take advantage of real-time zoom and pan that is now available in PlotMaker. The release also enables objects (doors, windows, lamps, etc.) in the Library browser to be sorted by subtypes. We paid special attention to Mac users: major performance bottlenecks have been now cleared or significantly improved. See Tech Notes below for specific problems fixed in the release. ArchiCAD 8 R2/v2 INT version is available on CD at your local ArchiCAD provider. In this maintenance release among others we addressed the following problems:

• #20811 - Macintosh: Selecting objects with the arrow tool automatically started dragging the objects in larger projects.
• #21744 - Macintosh OSX: Feedback while zooming lagged behind actual scrolling in larger projects.
• #21747 - Macintosh OSX: Selection dots appeared lagged at selection in larger projects.
• #21797 - TeamWork: Non-shared View Sets disappeared in certain cases.
• #21219 - PlotMaker: Importing files that were saved with the option "Save used attributes only" the attributes got mixed up in certain cases.
• #21575 - PlotMaker: If the pens of the AC view placed on a lbk were changed in PlotMaker, after the first update the pens reverted to the ArchiCAD pens.
• #20357 - Upon deleting a Mark-Up entry in 3D ArchiCAD crashed.
• #21149 - ArchiCAD crashed when saving compressed DWFs.
• #20588 - PlotMaker: DGN, DWF, DXF, DWG Add-Ons didn't export the elements of the Master Layouts.
• #22221 - Content of detail window did not get autosaved
