Success Story: Volkswagen AG Implements ArchiCAD 8
Worldwide Implementation of the Software for Car Dealership Showroom Construction and Reconstruction
ArchiCAD 8, the flagship of Graphisoft's product palette, is being implemented at Europe's biggest automobile group. The Dealership Building Consulting Division of Volkswagen AG will utilize the software for the construction/reconstruction of all their dealers' car showrooms worldwide. This means, above all, supporting dealership partners during the integration of VW company architectural elements, as defined by the automobile giant's Corporate Identity. After exhaustive tests and thorough analysis, VW AG opted for Graphisoft and purchased 15 ArchiCAD licenses to assist in carrying out its strategy.

Graphisoft Leads the Global Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) Initiative
Graphisoft has published a new White Paper exploring how ArchiCAD and
its key principles of design, construction and building lifecycle management
advance the IFC project model, thus promoting software interoperability
in the AEC and facility management industries.
Graphisoft has been a member of the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) since 1996, and ArchiCAD provides the most comprehensive support to users of IFC model based data sharing.
The adoption of the IFC exchange protocol as an ISO standard has been a major milestone; it is now the definitive global construction exchange protocol; but an equally significant milestone was reached in May 2003 with the publication of the latest release 2x2 of the IFC model. Read more details here, or view the whole white paper as a pdf.
