A plain-speaking and inspirational architect and Project Director from JRA, a highly commercial design firm constantly winning awards - and contracts - for landmark buildings in London.

Ever felt that architectural CAD should do more than just drafting?

Is your firm as competitive as it could be? Can you respond to your clients’ demand for new services? Are you exploiting all the advantages of modern information technology? Maybe your answer to these questions is “no.” But you’ve already made a large investment in your current CAD software and staff training. Why switch?

If the following are among the concerns of your firm, then it is worth talking to one of Graphisoft’s specialists about the Archicad solution. And don't ignore the powerful Return-on-Investment arguments by clicking the Flash banner above.

I currently have to juggle several different software products to get my work done.
Today, it is a minimum expectation that conceptual design through construction documentation can be completed with just one tool – regardless of project size.

I need a tool that works the way I think.
Architects require a tool that uses the common language of building elements (story, wall, slab, chair, etc.), offers flexible layer structures that enable users to organize and classify information in the project, and that allows them to work in three dimensions.

My project documents are being criticized as not being coordinated, yet I already spend too much time checking documents prior to issue.
While traditional CAD creates different views in different files, your software should create a single model of the building and allow you to choose the view you wish to see or print.

I’ve lost jobs to firms who are using 3D CAD. I am still using 2D and I am afraid I can’t compete in this changing market.
There’s no denying that 3D visualizations are a powerful force when dealing with clients. Your CAD software should allow you to output photorealistic renderings, virtual reality scenes and animations directly from the building model, without the need for special software or skills.

Objects in my current software have no relationship to our product catalog library or specification system.
You should have libraries of objects – and access to more objects on the Web – that represent products accurately, are parametric, and define important attributes, such as finishes, model number and performance criteria.

Working in teams with my current software is a nightmare.
Your software must enable collaboration with fellow designers and consultants, on any size project. Project sharing should be easy to set up, and allow work even without a network connection.

My consultants complain that they cannot read my data.
The basic requirements are that drawings can be converted to the latest version of accepted drawing formats, the model can be saved in 3D formats, schedules and bills of material are transferable to spreadsheets.

I need to be able to reuse the project files, details and documentation resources we have developed over many years.
Your CAD software must be able to open old files created in previous versions of your software.

It is time-consuming to train our new staff. Our architects would also like to use CAD, but our current system is too difficult to learn.
A CAD system that is designed with ease of use in mind allows productive work after just a few days of training. Even for architects who never imagined designing on a computer.

I feel I'm not getting the best service from my CAD supplier. Nor is he keeping me informed of changes in the industry.
A stable product, reliable vendor, and responsive local reseller are crucial to the efficient long-term usage of the software. Regular upgrades ensure your access to the latest technologies.
