IFC2x3 Reference Guide

This guide provides ArchiCAD users with an overview of the IFC standard and related features and skills in ArchiCAD. This IFC guide is also available as the part of the Interoperability Chapter in the ArchiCAD Help.

ArchiCAD and COBie

The COBie spreadsheet is a mapping of the FM Handover View Definition, which is a subset of the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) relating to Facilities Management. ArchiCAD uses its robust IFC data exchange capabilities to produce data output that is easily converted into COBie documentation.

This guide provides practical information on which data to add to an ArchiCAD project and how to export it as an IFC model, in order to obtain a format suitable for producing a COBie2 (or current-version COBie) spreadsheet.

This file package contains the IFC Scheme and the IFC Translator files (mentioned in the guide) that we recommend you use in ArchiCAD 16 to prepare your ArchiCAD Project for COBie2 documentation.
