Trial and Educational Versions
Starting with ArchiCAD 15 the BIMx application is an integrated part of the default ArchiCAD installation. This policy applies to both the commercial ArchiCAD versions shipped on DVD's and the educational and trial versions. These versions can be downloaded soon from the MyArchiCAD website.
For the commercial and trial users of AchiCAD without a license of BIMx the application is installed in trial mode. The trial version works for 30 days and allows the users to save trial BIMx project files on their local computer. Trial version BIMx files can only be played on the local computer where they were created.
BIMx Desktop Viewer
The BIMx Desktop Viewer is a native Mac/Win application that allows you to view the BIM Explorer models (saved in bimx file format) on desktop computers and notebooks. Please note that the BIMx Desktop Viewer application is included in the ArchiCAD 15 package so you don't have to download it if you already have ArchiCAD 15 installed on your computer.
Installation
- Please locate the desired language version and operating system from the following list and download the installer.
- Start the installer. The installer wizard will guide you through the installation process.
Important: When installing BIMx Desktop Viewer, you must be logged on as a member of the Administrator Group.
