System Requirements

The hardware/software requirements for using GRAPHISOFT EcoDesigner are identical to those of ArchiCAD 12. On Mac OS only Mac Intel processors are supported. For more details, see "Getting Started with ArchiCAD 12" available from the ArchiCAD Help menu.

How to try GRAPHISOFT EcoDesigner

• Check if you have a valid ArchiCAD 12, ArchiCAD STAR(T) Edition 2009, ArchiCAD 12 TRIAL, or ArchiCAD 12 DEMO installation on your computer, patched with the latest hotfix. (Build 2675 and above)
• Locate the desired language and OS version in the list below (EcoDesigner Download Packages) and download the installer.
• Start the Installer.
  Important: When installing EcoDesigner, you must be logged on as a member of the Administrator Group.
  For Windows users: Java 6 is required to run installer/uninstaller. If you do not have Java 6 on your system, it will be automatically installed when you start installing EcoDesigner.
• The EcoDesigner installer wizard will help you through the installation. You will need to define a location on your computer's hard drive for installing EcoDesigner. You can either point to an existing folder or create a new folder.
• In order to try EcoDesigner without a license under a licensed ArchiCAD 12, you need to run ArchiCAD 12 in DEMO mode. Unplug the WIBU dongle prior to launching ArchiCAD to switch to DEMO mode, where all EcoDesigner functions are available with the exception that the Energy Balance Evaluation sheet cannot be saved.

How to obtain an EcoDesigner license

If you decide to purchase an EcoDesigner license, please contact your local ArchiCAD reseller. Product licenses may be uploaded to the ArchiCAD protection key via the internet. After obtaining the license to the EcoDesigner you have already installed, it is going to work under your licensed ArchiCAD 12 with full functionality.

*If you are running an ArchiCAD version not listed in the table above, please do the following:

1. Download EcoDesigner (English) version and install.
2. Locate EcoDesigner add-on folder on your computer, If you installed the ArchiCAD to its default location, then you will find its folder in the "C:/Program Files/GRAPHISOFT/ArchiCAD 12/Add-Ons/EcoDesigner" (Windows). The GRAPHISOFT folder is located in the "Applications" folder on Macintosh.
3. Duplicate the "INT" library folder within the EcoDesigner add-on folder, and rename the copy using the three-character language code that corresponds to your version (see the table below). For example, rename the "INT" to "JPN" if you are running ArchiCAD 12 Japanese version.
