Dynamic museum design wins 2009 Fall ArchitectsJURY Competition

Budapest, March 18, 2010 – A dynamic design for a modern art museum in Odessa, Ukraine, is the winner of the 2009 Fall ArchitectsJURY competition. Sivak Dmitriy, a student at the Odessa State Academy of Building and Architecture, designed the winning project in ArchiCAD.

“Odessa is a big city with lots of galleries and classical art museums, but there is no museum of modern art. I wanted to give Odessa’s many artists a place to exhibit their work,” Dmitriy said, when asked about his diploma project. The project is located in the heart of the city, an area that is frequented by many tourists and locals alike.

The designer’s intention was to create a museum “using expressive, dynamic, modern forms to emphasize its role, and to create a new destination for visitors to the city.” The project was created without add-ons or plug-ins, which, according to Dmitriy, “shows how flexible ArchiCAD is. For the more difficult parts, I used ArchiCAD’s Mesh tool and Solid Element Operations.” Dmitriy started using ArchiCAD during his first year at the academy. “I always preferred working with ArchiCAD,” he said. “I like ArchiCAD because it is very easy to work with.”

IFC 2x3 Add-on for 64-bit Windows

This IFC Add-On works with ArchiCAD 13 (build 3259) on Windows 64-bit operating systems. Download and run the installer - and the add-on will be automatically loaded the next time you start ArchiCAD.

Install Notes:

This add-on is a "public beta" - it is based on a beta-state third-party IFC toolkit. It is provided "as is", without guarantee of any kind.
The add-on is only available in English. You can install it to other language versions of ArchiCAD, but part of the interface will be in English.
Upcoming Hotfixes will not update this Add-On. The latest version of the Add-On is always published on this page.

Upgrade for Virtual Building Explorer for ArchiCAD 13

The upgrade for VBE for ArchiCAD 13 is free for all VBE for ArchiCAD 12 customers. The latest version runs with all the previously provided VBE for ArchiCAD 12 licenses on both Windows and Macintosh OSX platforms.

Please read the VBE for ArchiCAD 13 User Guide for system requirements.

Install steps

Locate the desired language and OS version in the list below and download the installer.
Uninstall any Virtual Building Explorer installations form your computer. Make sure that you deactivate your VBE license before removing the VBE application.
Check if you have a valid ArchiCAD 13 installation on your computer.
Start the VBE for AC13 installer.
After successful installation, locate the VBE_LicenseManager application in the VBE installation folder and activate your VBE license

Release notes:

VBE runs on Windows 7 operating systems however the video card drivers may largely influence its performance. It is highly recommended to update the video card drivers to the most recent WIN 7 compatible ones to avoid any display problems.

The Page UP/ Down keys can’t be used on Macintosh computers to lift and lower the camera as indicated in the VBE keyboard shortcut card. These functions are currently assigned to the “Y” and “H” keys in the MAC version because the PageUP/Down keys are not available in the MAC notebooks. Later this year we’ll release a VBE hotfix that will allow the Mac desktop computer users to use the PageUP/Down keys for elevating the camera.

Install the Trial version of Virtual Building Explorer

Install steps

Locate the desired language and OS version in the list below and download the installer
Check if you have a valid ArchiCAD 13, ArchiCAD 13 TRIAL, or ArchiCAD SE2010 installation on your computer
Start the installer
After successful installation, locate the VBE_LicenseManager application in the VBE installation folder and start it
Click the Request Trial Version button to receive a 5-day trial license from the VBE server

Note that you must have a working Internet connection to obtain a trial license!

Limitations of the Trial version

The trial version has the full functionality of the commercial version of the VBE including the Global Illumination feature. The only limitation is that the self-running exe files saved with Trial version can be used only on the computer on which the trial version was installed. The trial license is valid for 5days. If you want to upgrade to a commercial license, please contact your local ArchiCAD reseller

Bug fixes for ArchiCAD are distributed through ArchiCAD Hotfixes and Library Hotfixes.

From version 11 and above, ArchiCAD automatically checks the availability of new Hotfixes, and will warn you when a new Hotfix is available. Alternatively, you can use the 'Check for Updates...' command in the ArchiCAD 'Help' menu
For version 9 and 10, you can find the latest Hotfix using the 'Check for Updates...' command in the ArchiCAD 'Help' menu.

Common <EMBED> Tag Attributes

This attribute defines how the plug-in is positioned on the page.

Specifies the size, in pixels, of the border around the plug-in.

"NO" specifies that the frame has no border.

The height of the area the browser will reserve for the embedded program. You can supply the height in pixels or as a percentage of total screen height.

This attribute determines whether the plug-in is visible on the page. Possible values are TRUE and FALSE. TRUE overrides any HEIGHT and WIDTH to make a zero-sized plug-in. The default is FALSE.

Sets the amount of space, in pixels, that the browser should keep free on the left and right sides of the plug-in.

This URL will be published by the Plug-in during downloading. With this URL, the user can later browse for additional information or an updated version of a library part, or download other library parts.

Sets the name of the plug-in.

Specifies the URL that contains the instructions for installing the plug-in. This URL is used by the assisted installation process, if the plug-in registered for the MIME type of this EMBED element is not found.

This is a URL that points to a JAVA archive that is to be used if the plug-in is not installed, and the user requests to install the plug-in.

Specifies the data that the plug-in must use. The type of plug-in is determined by the extension, if no value is specified with the TYPE attribute

Specifies the MIME type of the EMBED element, which in turn determines which plug-in to load. In our case it is very useful to specify it to any GDL object. e.g., type="model/vnd.gs-gdl". Without this, the server may not recognize that the file should be sent by this MIME type protocol via the Internet and therefore the Netscape browser (which recognizes files by MIME type, unlike Internet Explorer) doesn't call GDL Object Web Control.

This attribute sets in which units the value of the HEIGHT and WIDTH attributes are supplied. Possible values are pixels or en which is half the point size.

Specifies a margin, in pixels, between the top and bottom edges of the applet and any surrounding text and images.

Specifies the width in which the plug-in must fit. The plug-in is scaled to fit the specified height and width. You can supply the width in pixels or as a percentage of total screen width.

Common <OBJECT> Tag Attributes

specifies the alignment for the control:
LEFT aligns text flush left (the default).
RIGHT aligns text flush right.
TOP aligns text to the top.
BOTTOM aligns text to the bottom.

CLASSID="CLSID:59AB211E-AD5C-11D3-8326-00C0CA175B90"

is the directory containing the object class file and any resources needed by the object. The value is a URL for an absolute or a relative pathname. An absolute URL is used as is, without modification, and is not affected by the document's BASE tag. A relative CODEBASE attribute is relative to the document's base URL defined by the BASE tag. If the document does not define a BASE tag, it is relative to the directory containing the HTML file. For OBJECT tags that are treated as plug-ins, CODEBASE is synonymous with the PLUGINSPAGE attribute of the EMBED tag.

is the URL of the object's data.

specifies the height of the area to be occupied by the control.

specifies the MIME type of the embedded object.

specifies the width of the area to be occupied by the control.

is the name that JavaScript can use to refer to the object; this is equivalent to the NAME attribute of the APPLET and EMBED tags.

GDL Object Web Control Attributes

Antialiasing="1"
Usage of anti-aliasing. The possible values are:
1 Off
2 Good
3 Better
4 Best

AxonometryAngle="270"
When the ProjectionCode parameter is not perspective projection (10), the scene will be rendered in parallel projection mode using the ProjectionCode parameter. In any parallel rendering mode (e.g., Front view and Isometric) this parameter value will rotate the camera around the object. The default value is 270 degrees.

BackImage="document name" (available from version 1.02)
This parameter allows you to define the document name of the image file that will be displayed in the background of the 2D drawing, 3D and photorendered images. It will not appear with the Preview picture. The URL of the background image file must be defined in the GDLListTxt catalog file.

DisableMenus=#0
When the user presses the right button of the mouse (Windows) or clicks + Ctrl (MacOS), a pop-up menu appears. The HTML programmer can permit or ban the use of some menu items. The parameter is a hexadecimal number. The 1 value of the i. bit of the parameter means the i. menu item is disabled. (0 means no menu items disabled, 1 means the first menu item is disabled, ... etc. The #2000 value will disable the 14th menu item. When counting the menu items, take into account that the separators are also considered menu items.)

EarthColor="#FFFFFF"
In photorendering mode, the color of the earth, which will appear in the background. The default value is "#FFFFFF", which means the red, green, blue component of the color is the hexadecimal values of FF, FF, FF.

Effects="1+64"
The special effects of the 3D Visualization. The default value combination is 65. Possible values:
1 Sun is on.
2 Lights are on.
4 Turns on the sun shadow in the Photorendering.
8 Turns on the light's shadow in the Photorendering.
16 Turns the high accuracy in the shadow mapped Photorendering. It is effective if the 1 and 4 values are set.
32 Turns on vectorial sun shadow casting. It is effective only in WireFrame, Hidden Line and Shading modes.
64 Turns on vectorial hatching in Shading and Hidden Line modes.
128 Turns on the contours in the shaded view.

GdllistTxt=""
The URL address of the gdllist.txt file. This file can be created in two ways: automatically by GDL Object Publisher authoring tool, or manually. For the format of this file see gdllist.txt format. If this parameter is not specified, GDL Object Web Control will search for the gdllist.txt in the folder the object was loaded from. If this string is a relative path, it must be relative to the library part file and not to the HTML page.

The URL address of the Master.gdl file. This file contains the default materials, textures, etc., for the object files. By default, GDL Object Web Control will search for this file in the folder the object was loaded from or the folder the gdllist.txt file was loaded from. If this string is a relative path, it must be relative to the library part file and not to the HTML page.

The painting method in shading mode. The possible values are:

PerspectiveEyeCone="60"
The angle of the camera view frustum. This parameter takes effect only in perspective rendering mode, when the ProjectionSettings parameter is 10, or when the user changes the rendering mode to perspective in the Projection Settings dialog box. The default value of this parameter is 60 degrees.

The projection type. All projections are parallel views, except for 10. The possible values are:

Save="YES" | "NO"
The YES state of this tag attribute prompts the GDL Object Web Control to save the GDL object identified in the SRC parameter. In this case, no drawing is performed onto the browser window, a Save As... dialog box appears instead. If the object named in SRC has references to other files (e.g., macros), the necessary files will also be saved. The default value of this parameter is NO.

ShowType="SHADING"
This parameter tell the GDL Object Web Control which drawing type it should use. The default value is SHADING. Possible values are:
WIREFRAME Draw the object in wireframe, show all lines
HIDDENLINE Draw the object in wireframe, hide invisible lines
SHADING Fill the object with color
PHOTORENDERING Paint a photorealistic picture of the object
DRAWING2D Draw the object in 2 dimension
PREVIEW Draw a preview picture of the object. No rendering is performed

Similar="YES" | "NO"
When this parameter is YES, the GDL Object Web Control will search for the other instances that are showing the same Library Part. It will use the same parameters for each similar instances. When the user makes some parameter changes it will update automatically in each window or tag.

SkyColor="#FFFFFF"
In photorendering mode, this indicates the color of the sky that will appear in the background. The default value is "#FFFFFF", which means that the red, green and blue components of the color are the hexadecimal values of FF, FF, FF.

If these parameters are not present, the width and height of the picture will equal with the WIDTH, HEIGHT parameters of the <EMBED> tag. If present, they will override these values in the context of the GDL Object Web Control. In this case, the size of the empty window that Netscape leave for the GDL Object Web Control is determined by WIDTH, HEIGHT, but the GDL Object Web Control uses just the WinWidth, WinHeight part of that space. You can supply the size in pixels or as a percentage of total screen size.

"SetPluginCode"
Sets the code file's url for enabling CAD connectivity and configuration functionalities.

Some objects can be controlled by parameters. The parameters can define the width and height of a door, the material of a bed or the number of bars in a window. If the GDL Object Web Control gets parameters that weren't listed before, it passes these parameters to the object. The object can use them and their values instead of the default parameters. If a parameter is a real number, when passed to the GDL Object Web Control the name of the parameter must begin with the letter 'r'. (e.g., rA=4.5 means that the A parameter has a value of 4.5). If the parameter is a string, its name must start with the letter 's'. The GDL Global variables are also set with this method and using their long names. GDL Object Web Control uses "GDLParams" parameter for this purpose in the case of Internet Explorer on Windows. The different GDL parameters have to be separated by '&'. E.g.: name="GDLParams" value="rA=1&rB=2".

While the Control is in this mode you can change the parameters without taking effect, or even use SETADDSCRIPT, SETDELSCRIPT commands of the Configurator without any effect. You have to rise up the Control from this mode! If you want to finish accumulating, and make those kind of commands to take effect you have call this command with 'TRUE' before the last call of those kind of commands, and then the Object rebuilds again.

AIA Charlotte, GRAPHISOFT and Design Integrations Offer ‘BIM’ Skills Training for Architects

BOSTON, March 3, 2010 – The worst of times can be the best of times to enhance career prospects. Out-of-work architects in the Charlotte, N.C., area are discovering this first hand with a new opportunity to significantly upgrade their credentials by learning building information modeling (BIM).

BIM is the most advanced technology for architectural design. The American Institute of Architects’ Charlotte chapter will co-sponsor two free three-hour BIM training sessions on Friday, March 12 called “BIM Basics - The fundamentals of BIM.” The sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the AIA Charlotte offices. Pre-registration is required.

The training is co-sponsored by BIM software provider GRAPHISOFT, which will donate free one-year education licenses of its ArchiCAD 13 BIM software to eligible architects, and Design Integrations Inc. of Marietta, Ga., a GRAPHISOFT value-added reseller.

ArchiCAD, GRAPHISOFT’s best-in-class building information modeling (BIM) authoring software, combines leading-edge technology with rich functionality, giving architects the speed and agility to compete in today’s increasingly demanding market. The three-hour training session will cover ArchiCAD basics, BIM principles, virtual modeling and integrated product delivery. Architect’s ‘net zero’ dream home designed in ArchiCAD

BOSTON, March 1, 2010 – In nature, nothing is perfectly square and organisms orient themselves relative to the sun. Both truths explain the fresh design of the “net zero” Zona home.

The Zona net zero home, Jacksonville, Fla.

Designed by architect John Zona III using ArchiCAD 13 software from GRAPHISOFT, the Jacksonville, Florida, residence is Zona and his wife’s personal dream home. It features a main residence and guest cottage/studio, both with football-shaped footprints to minimize energy demands for cooling. The long edges face the south and north; only the points of the football face the higher-intensity east and west.

As a net zero home, the Zona property consumes no more power than it produces with its elegantly arrayed 6.5 kwH solar photovoltaic panels. Its geothermal cooling system consumes less than half the energy of even the most efficient conventional air conditioning. Other eco-friendly touches include an 8,000-gallon rain collection tower for bathing, dishwashing, laundry and other non-drinking use. Graywater is reused for irrigation, and organic waste is composted for the garden. All materials are locally sourced, and all wood scrap from building the home was recycled into new boards. The roof and siding reflects, rather than absorbs, sunlight.

ArchiCAD’s building information modeling (BIM) software – and its companion products from GRAPHISOFT, EcoDesigner for sustainable design and MEP Modeler for mechanical, electrical and plumbing design – enabled Zona to quickly model the house in three dimensions. Zona could then automatically pump out 2D floor plans, elevations, sections and orthographic projections for the builders. “ArchiCAD helped us easily understand the uniquely shaped spaces, including the thermal qualities of volumes that were sometimes two stories deep,” Zona said. “ArchiCAD gave us shade and sun studies and on-demand renderings of interiors with different materials, textures, colors and furniture. Every day was an adventure for the carpenters, and ArchiCAD’s ability to produce any view at any time ensured it was a fun adventure. Some of this work would have taken five times longer without ArchiCAD and its extensions. In fact, some parts would have been impossible.”

Interoperability with ArchiCAD

ArchiCAD exports the model in Artlantis file format through its' dedicated plug-ins. You can find more specific information about the plug-in and a tutorial here.

Available export plug-ins

Generally, the Artlantis export plug-ins are installed by default. New versions and updated plug-ins are available for download and need to be installed separately.
The following add-ons support and automatically recognize English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Greek operating systems. If you install it on any other language system, it will run in English. The installer runs in English on every operating system, independently of the regional and language settings. Click on the icon to start downloading the installer. Before installing, please download and read the ReadMe file.

To save Artlantis 3.0 files, ArchiCAD 13 users are asked to download and install the latest Hotfix. They can also download and install the latest version of the plug-in below.

The Virtual Building™ Model and the Virtual Building™ Environment supports open communication, modifications and enhancements to the design, regardless of physical distances. CAD File Formats

Because file format compatibility is crucial when working with outside consultants, or when upgrading from another CAD system, ArchiCAD provides the functionality to ensure that no data or time is lost in the conversion process.

ArchiCAD's DXF/DWG translator supports up to AutoCAD® 2009 and accurately maps layers, pen colors, fonts and blocks. ArchiCAD can write out DXF/DWG data that contains both Paper Space and Model Space information in the same file. ArchiCAD's intelligent handling of AutoCAD Xrefs, at input and output, not only preserves the link but allows Xref administration (including linking, unlinking and binding) within ArchiCAD.

Adobe PDF Support

Adobe’s Portable Document Format (PDF) has become the most popular digital file format for publishing and archiving the architectural documentation. ArchiCAD’s internal PDF engine supports both the export and import of PDF documents. Importing PDF documents as drawings is a great way to bring in a standard detail or manufacturer's specifications directly onto an ArchiCAD layout sheet.

IFC Support

Graphisoft has been active in the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) since 1996. ArchiCAD supports IFC 2x, 2x2 and 2x3 format. The principal benefit of IFCs is their object description - not only does the IFC protocol preserve the full geometric description in 3D, but it also knows its location and relationships, as well as all the properties (or parameters) of each object, Via IFC input/output ArchiCAD can communicate with a wide range of structural and energy analysis applications.

Anshen + Allen Uses ArchiCAD to Transform Shipping Containers Into Clinics for the Developing World

BOSTON, February 22, 2010 – In a pro bono effort to help increase health-care access in developing countries worldwide, award-winning San Francisco architecture firm Anshen + Allen is using ArchiCAD building information modeling (BIM) software to transform run-of-the-mill shipping containers into rapid-deployment health clinics.

Anshen + Allen is an international leader in the design of healthcare, academic and research buildings, with a conviction that “good design can transform lives.” The firm’s client is Containers to Clinics (C2C), a non-profit organization committed to delivering primary health care to women and children in underserved areas of the developing world. Anshen + Allen architects started its design with two empty 8-foot-by-20-foot containers and created two modern exam/consultation spaces, a laboratory and a pharmacy.

“Space, heat, hygiene and security were our main design challenges,” said Mali Ouzts, lead designer for Anshen + Allen. “GRAPHISOFT’s ArchiCAD helped us visualize alternatives, explore them virtually, collaborate with the client, make sound design decisions, and complete a prototype in a matter of a few weeks. The project took just one-third of the time that it would have if we had used two-dimensional software. The final design is an ultra-efficient use of space and resources.”

Spearheading the project and consulting on the final design was Elizabeth Sheehan, C2C executive director, who has devoted her career to medical care for women and children in the developing world. She has worked as a physician’s assistant in clinics and hospitals in Cambodia, India, Tibet, Nepal and several countries in Africa.

The final clinic design includes examination beds, ample ventilation, insulation to retain cool air, and a false wall with an automatically locking door, enabling the clinic to revert to a locked-down container during off hours. Anshen + Allen relied heavily on ArchiCAD material, profile, window and rendering tools.

The first clinic is scheduled to be shipped to the Dominican Republic and will be installed in a rural community 90 minutes outside of Santo Domingo. As with all the container clinics, it will be a fully functional health facility with medicines and will be locally staffed to ensure integration with the local culture. The containers are easily shipped by sea and on flatbed trucks. C2C is also actively working to help Haiti in the wake of its devastating January 12 earthquake.

Located two miles southwest of downtown Detroit, it was intended to serve not only railway passengers with its underground tunnel but also as an office building and hotel. It currently stands as a deteriorating reminder of the state of Detroit's economy. Take this space on the outskirts of Detroit and design something that will benefit the community. Possible examples include a monument, another railway, an urban center, a school, etc. You must make sure that it is feasible given the unclear state of Detroit's economy and contains materials that will last well into the future.

Campus Project:

A college's Student Union helps connect students with their school as well as each other and is arguably the most influential building on any campus. You all must have different takes on what a good Student Union should have. Take some of your likes and dislikes from each of your colleges' student centers and create the ultimate hangout spot. What types of recreational activities does it support? What kinds of student services does it house? More importantly, how does your design help unite the entire college campus?

ArchiCAD 13:

GRAPHISOFT has revolutionized the way files are shared in the office and offers a groundbreaking solution to team management and communication. The first-ever real time BIM Server and Teamwork 2.0 (both new functions of ArchiCAD 13) make it possible for designers to communicate, collaborate, and share files with anyone - anywhere in the world. The wait times are dramatically reduced because only the changes of the model are sent, and as the Teamwork function lets you easily reserve specific parts of the model to work on, in which no one else can make changes, coordinating an entire design team remotely is possible.

The Competition:

Students will create teams of 2-4 (it is encouraged to find team members from different schools). Teams will collaborate using the BIM Server to design their project. All students must be enrolled in a college or university in North America.

Registration:

Registration will open on Monday, February 22^nd and will close Sunday, March 7^th. After registration closes a directory of student contacts will be posted at the GRAPHISOFT US website, and it will be up to you to form your team. Team names must be sent to by March 4th. If you need help finding a team or have not found one by this date, GRAPHISOFT will create one for you.

Upon registration you will be sent additional information about the BIM Server - where to download it, how to install it, and how it works - along with some suggestions on how to better design the winning model.

Submittals and deliverables:

Entries must be submitted by May 1^st. Deliverables should include:

FULL ArchiCAD 13 .pla file
PDF documents of all plans, elevations, and relevant sections
At least one rendering
A brief paragraph describing how your design intent fits its respective criteria above.

BrightBuilt Barn, designed in ArchiCAD, wins LEED award for innovation

BOSTON, Feb. 16, 2010 – The BrightBuilt Barn – an innovative “net zero” home that needs no furnace, is easy to repair/upgrade, and is designed to last for centuries – has won a major innovation award from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Designed in ArchiCAD, the highly acclaimed BrightBuilt Barn was selected for the 2009 LEED for Homes Innovative Project Award “because it brings to life a vision of an evolved future for the homebuilding industry, and effectively employs a smaller, replicable, flexible prefabricated design that succeeds in re-imagining the look and feel of 'home,' while keeping upfront costs low and long-term operational costs to an absolute minimum,” said the USGBC. The home was designed by Kaplan Thompson Architects in ArchiCAD Building Information Modeling (BIM) software from GRAPHISOFT. Bensonwood Homes built the home, and principals of the companies accepted the award recently at GreenBuild, the annual USGBC conference.

The BrightBuilt Barn is a 700-square foot structure with two bedroom/studio spaces and a loft heated by thermal solar. Its net zero design means that it will produce more electricity in a year than it consumes, and its flexible layout enables it to adapt to new uses without consuming more energy and building materials. Kaplan Thompson has posted the building’s final design at www.brightbuiltbarn.com for free use – a sustainable design version of the software world’s “open source” development model. BrightBuilt was listed among the 2009 TreeHugger Best of Green: Design + Architecture buildings, and was documented as a “Net Zero” structure. EcoHome magazine named BrightBuilt one of “6 Prefab Houses That Could Change Home Building.”

Operation

GDL object file: can be standalone or assembly (macros used).
gdllist.txt: The catalog file. This lists all the files needed to display the object. This file is created by GDL Publisher.
master.gdl: this contains default material and texture definitions. If not found, the file installed on the client machine is used. The path to this file can be set via the Preferences dialog box.

It is possible to set the GDL parameters of objects to override their default values, i.e. the ones with which the objects were saved in the authoring tool.

Parameters can be either strings or numbers in the world of GDL. When setting a string type parameter, start with the prefix 's'. When setting number type parameters, start with 'r' followed by the name of the parameter.

This example embeds a GDL object into an HTML page.

Communicating with the Plug-in

Checking Load Status
It is very important to check the status of the embedded objects, before starting any communication with the plug-in.

This code snippet uses the page's onload event to call the check function. Once the plug-in has finished displaying the object, it can accept commands or handle queries.

Sending Commands
Commands are tasks which the plug-in can execute and there is no return value: e.g. setting view modes.

To send commands: GDL_Control.CallPlugin ("Command", "Parameter")

If return values are expected from the plug-in:

To set more than one parameter at a time, join the commands with the '&' sign.

Getting Parameter Values
GDL objects can have 1024 parameters. To get a parameter value, you should know its index in the parameter list of the object in question. The index starts with 1.

A loop can be used to get all the parameters at a time:

Define plugin callback function
From version 13 the plugin can call back a user defined JavaScript function. If a user defines a callback function, the plugin calls it every time when it's state has changed. With this function developers can keep the consistency of the JavaScript user interface.

This example sets the function which the plugin can call:

GraphicalEditing	The user switched on or off graphical editing mode.
InternalEngine	The rendering engine switched to Internal Engine.
OpenGL	The rendering engine switched to Internal Engine.

This example embeds a GDL object into the page by changing parameter 'myParam' from its default value 0 to 1.

It also changes the parameter 'Radius' to 45 degrees and sets the axonometry angle to 180 degrees at load time.

To change this parameter, click on the 'Set Parameter' button included on the example page.
