1. Purpose of the document
This document informs you about the new GDL features in ArchiCAD 11. You can find the definition of the new and changed commands in the GDL Reference Guide. Some of these topics are described in the Basic Library Documentation, too. The links in this document refer to the latter one, if available.
2. List of new features
Unicode GDL scripts
GDL scripts became Unicode. This means that you can develop totally codepage-independent library parts on any platform using any national character in the string constants. Note, that Archicad 11's user interface isn't Unicode yet, so you can achieve this goal via XML editing and the LP_XMLConverter tool only.
WALLHOLE2, WALLBLOCK2
These two polygonal fill commands are for use in doors and windows and give you the option to add or substract any polygon to or from the wall in the plan view. A good usage area can be Scripted reveals in plan view.
WALLLINE2, WALLARC2
These commands are available in doors' and windows' 2D script and draw lines attached to the wall. A good usage area can be Scripted reveals in plan view.
REVOLVE{2}
Advanced version of revolve, where the start angle and the face materials are controlable.
New fix named optional parameters
Fix named optional parameters are described in the Appendix A of this documentation. The newly added parameters are listed below.
New global variables
- GLOB_INTGUID internal ID of the placed library part
- WALL_ID user defined ID of the container/referenced wall
- WALL_INTGUID internal ID of the container/referenced wall
- WALL_SKINS_PARAMS[i][14] end face line type of the skin
