Description

A solid texture giving a polka-dot pattern. The texture may be thought of as a three-dimensional lattice of spheres suspended in a uniform medium. On the surface spheres have different height than the medium.

The height of the spheres in relation to the surface is given by "spot displacement". Values greater than 0.0 make the spots displaced outside of the surface. Opposite, values less than 0.0 make the spots displaced inside the surface.

The radius of the spheres is specified by argument "radius", and the distance between centres of adjacent spheres by argument "separation". A factor in the range 0.0 to 1.0 which is provided in argument "edge softness" controls the softness of the sphere boundaries. A value of 0.0 gives a hard edge to the spheres, and a value of 1.0 gives a continuous blend of colour throughout each sphere. An overall scaling factor may be specified by argument "scale"; increasing this value will make the spheres appear larger. Similarly, "displacement amplitude" controls the overall scale of displacement.
