1. Purpose of the document

This document informs you about the new GDL features in ArchiCAD 11. You can find the definition of the new and changed commands in the GDL Reference Guide. Some of these topics are described in the Basic Library Documentation, too. The links in this document refer to the latter one, if available.

2. List of new features

Unicode GDL scripts

GDL scripts became Unicode. This means that you can develop totally codepage-independent library parts on any platform using any national character in the string constants. Note, that Archicad 11's user interface isn't Unicode yet, so you can achieve this goal via XML editing and the LP_XMLConverter tool only.

WALLHOLE2, WALLBLOCK2

These two polygonal fill commands are for use in doors and windows and give you the option to add or substract any polygon to or from the wall in the plan view. A good usage area can be Scripted reveals in plan view.

WALLLINE2, WALLARC2

These commands are available in doors' and windows' 2D script and draw lines attached to the wall. A good usage area can be Scripted reveals in plan view.

REVOLVE{2}

Advanced version of revolve, where the start angle and the face materials are controlable.

New fix named optional parameters

Fix named optional parameters are described in the Appendix A of this documentation. The newly added parameters are listed below.
