Tsinghua University Begins ARCHICAD Courses
Hong Kong - December 14, 1998
Tsinghua University in Beijing, the most prestigious university in China, began teaching ARCHICAD at its Department of Architecture today.
Tsinghua University acquired its 30 ARCHICAD licenses last June through a special university licensing program offered by Graphisoft Hong Kong to the leading architectural schools in South East Asia. Within 6 months of their acquisition, the university is ready to start regular ARCHICAD courses using localized training materials and a separate section in the university's textbook that highlights the importance of object technology and the "Virtual Building" in the development of architectural studies in China.
Tsinghua University also upgraded their computer facilities in preparation for the ARCHICAD course with the acquisition of 30 new high-end PC workstations. Annual enrollment in the Department of Architecture is 150 students.
"We are very happy to form this alliance with Tsinghua University," states Graphisoft Hong Kong Managing Director Andras Szigeti. "Graphisoft is glad to contribute to further raising the standards of architecture in China."
"With ARCHICAD as an integral part of the school's architectural curriculum, the course will help set the future of architectural education at Tsinghua University." says Qin Youguo, Dean of the Department of Architecture.
