Graphisoft appoints U.K. Managing Director
Garreth Evans to drive U.K. growth of 3D architectural and 5D virtual construction solutions leader, Graphisoft
Budapest, April 07, 2005 - Graphisoft today announces the appointment of Garreth Evans as the Managing Director of its U.K. subsidiary. In this role, Evans will be responsible for the overall development of the U.K. business and further establishing the virtual modeling solution ARCHICAD® as the de facto architectural Virtual Building™ standard among innovative architectural practises of all sizes.
He has distinguished himself within the IT industry in a variety of sales, management and executive roles in the U.K., Canadian and U.S. markets. Evans has held several leadership positions at CAD/CAM companies including ComputerVision, driving $100 million in revenue, and Unigraphics where he was responsible for both the AEC and the Mechanical CAD sector.
"We are delighted to have such a high caliber global executive join our management team. Garreth's experience, energy and passion for our business will be a great addition to Graphisoft at this tipping point in virtual modeling which is changing the face of buiding design and construction, worldwide," says Dominic Gallello, Graphisoft CEO.
"I see many parallels between the current state of CAD/CAM in the AEC sector and the Mechanical sector several years ago," says Evans. "3D brought huge benefits over the old technology of 2D when we started focusing on business benefits rather that the technological benefits. Manufacturing reaped huge rewards from the deployment of CAD/CAM as part of an integrated PLM solution. It will be the same for the Graphisoft Constructor™ product line. When we integrate 3D modeling with automatic cost estimating and project scheduling, the business benefits are huge. We are on the cusp of a significant take-up of this new technology which will bring large rewards to the construction industry."
