Install the Trial version of Virtual Building Explorer

Install steps

• Locate the desired language and OS version in the list below and download the installer
• Check if you have a valid ArchiCAD 12, ArchiCAD 12 TRIAL, or ArchiCAD SE2009 installation on your computer
• Start the installer
• After successful installation, locate the VBE_LicenseManager application in the VBE installation folder and start it
• Click the Request Trial Version button to receive a 7-day trial license from the VBE server
• Update the VBE with the latest Hotfix.

Note that you must have a working Internet connection to obtain a trial license

Limitations of the Trial version

The trial version has the full functionality of the commercial version of the VBE including the Global Illumination feature. The only limitation is that the self-running exe files saved with Trial version can be used only on the computer on which the trial version was installed. The trial license is valid for 7days. If you want to upgrade to a commercial license, please contact your local ArchiCAD reseller

Virtual Building Explorer Hotfix (Build 6695)

It’s highly recommended for everyone to download this Hotfix as it solves possible License Manager errors.

This Hotfix replaces code part of all VBE components from Build 6680 to Build 6693.

Important install notes:

• The VBE Hotfix (Build 6695) can be applied to ArchiCAD 12 version 2420 or higher. (It is recommended to run the latest ArchiCAD 12 update).

Install steps:

1. Download the Hotfix.
2. Exit VBE before you start the installer.
3. Make sure that you have administrator rights on your computer.
4. Make sure that components of your VBE installation were not renamed. The Hotfix will not reinstall missing components and will ignore components that are renamed.
5. Double-click on the downloaded file to start the installer. To run the installer, Java version 6 has to be installed on your computer. You can install Java version 6 from your original ArchiCAD install CD.
6. Follow the instructions of the wizard to complete the installation.
