Door/Window Sill Height cannot be set to value greater than Head Height

Written by László Nagy

In the Door/Window Settings Dialog, it is not possible to set for Sill Height a value that is greater than the Head Height of the Door/Window.

The Select Subtype... button of the Library Editor

ArchiCAD erroneously "thinks" that if the Sill Height is greater than the Head Height a degenerated element will be the result. So in the above example, it is not possible to enter a value greater than 2400 for Sill Height.
There is a workaround: Set the desired value in two or more steps. In the above example, let us say you want your Window to have a Sill Height of '3000'. First set Sill Height to '2300'. Head Height will get updated to '3800'. Now it is possible for you to set '3000" for Sill Height.
Please note that the 'Changes made to Door/Window opening height parameter affect' field in Options\Preferences\Construction Elements... does not have any effect on how this behaves.
