How to make a listing of all objects placed in a project file in ArchiCAD

TechTip of the Month Contest Winner of July 2003:

Matthew Lohden's tip on making a listing of all objects placed in a project file in ArchiCAD!

"(...)
Does anyone know how to make archicad produce a text file, or other type of listing of all objects placed in a file?

I am trying to make a consolidated library of parts we use all the time, and I need to know where the parts I've placed are stored so that they can be sorted into a single directory system."

The simplest solutions are the greatest, so here is Matthew's answer:

  1. Go to File.../Library Manager, remove all loaded libraries (Use Drag&Drop outside the dialog, or the Remove button in the lower right corner), and click the reload button.
  2. The upcoming Status Report floating palette will then list all the library parts as missing and allow you to print out the list.

Hint: you can also save the list to a TXT (text) file using the Save As... button, copy it to the clipboard with the Copy button and paste it into any application and format it to your liking or even Print it to any printer or to PDF using the Amyuni PDF driver that is shipped with ArchiCAD (or any other PDF driver) etc.
