Scroll Problems on Macintosh

Using a Logitech mouse with ArchiCAD 8 on Mac OS 9.x/Mac OS X

Written by Péter Kis

This document applies especially to the Logitech wheel mouse, but any compatible mouse types may be affected.

A mouse equipped with a wheel button is capable to zoom and pan in 2D and 3D windows in ArchiCAD 8. However, these functions are sometimes not available due to mouse driver problems.

Known problems:

  • Mac OS X

LogiTech Control Center 1.0: The Pan function is not available in ArchiCAD 8.

This malfunction can only be corrected if you uninstall the Logitech Control Center and use the standard system driver.

If you need the additional functionality of the Logitech Control Center, try installing the USB Overdrive program. The program is available for download from the following URL: http://www.usboverdrive.com/

  • Mac OS 9.x

MouseWare 4.0 or standard mouse driver: When trying to use the scroll wheel on the floor plan for zooming, only the floor plan is scrolled up and down. The pan function does not work either.

As of now there is no known workaround to this problem.
