How to make a preview of the project file

To make a Preview of a file all you have to do is to copy&paste something into the Project Preview window. You can paste from any application (i.e. from a photo editor) or from any ArchiCAD window.

The size of the Preview window is 128 x 128 pixels. It is therefore best to paste items of the same width/length into it. Also, it is useful if the pasted item is at least 128 x 128 pixels of size.

A suggested method to make a 3D preview of your project:
Set your Photorendering window's size to max. 128 x 128 pixels and create a rendering. Select all (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A) in the rendering window and copy it to the Clipboard.

Open the Project Preview window (Window/Project Preview)and paste the picture into it, then save your project.

Pasting to the Clipboard can happen from any project window, it does not necessarily have to be the Photorendering Window.

To change the Preview of the project, simply paste again into the Project Preview window.
