Files cannot be published to the Internet on Mac
Written by László Nagy
On Mac, when one tries to publish files from ArchiCAD 8 or PlotMaker 3 to the Internet it seems that the publishing step was done correctly by the programs. However, when trying to view the published files with an Internet browser, it is not possible, sometimes even crashing the browser program.
The problem is technically caused by the FTPUpLoader component of the ArchiCAD package. It uploads published content to the Internet in ACSII format, not in binary format. This messes up the Reviewer application as it except binary files and cannot interpret the ACSII content.
There is a workaround to this problem. Since it is the FTP component that causes the problem, you can publish your content to your own machine, thereby bypassing the use of the program FTP Upload step. Then take any FTP program and upload the files with that. This will be a workable solution to this problem.
