Relocate Projects to the Absolute Origin

It can happen that the Project is located very far from the ArchiCAD-Origin, e.g. in case of importing a DXF/DWG-File.

In order to relocate the project back to the ArchiCAD-Origin follow the steps bellow:

  1. Set all the Layers to Show and Unlock.
  2. Elements locked by the Lock command in the Tools menu are to be unlocked.
  3. Place a hotspot next to the project.
  4. Press Alt+Shift/Opt+Shift on the keyboard and click on the hotspot previously placed so that the user origin (bold black cross) coincides with it.
  5. Delete both hotspot and user origin by selecting them with the arrow tool (delete twice).
  6. Establish a new hotspot in the project origin by typing the coordinates x=0, y=0.
  7. Click on the command Fit in window in the Display menu. The project and hotspot together with the project origin should appear in two different corners of the screen.
  8. Use the bold marquee to frame the project so that all the stories become selected. See also in the ArchiCAD Reference Guide.
  9. Drag the project to the project origin.
  10. By using Fit in window the project will be adjusted to the screen.
  11. Go to Save as and save the project under a new name.
