SPEED ISSUE: Slow deselection of Library Objects
Written by László Nagy
In ArchiCAD, a Library Object is selected with the Arrow Tool, and then deselected (meaning nothing is selected). During deselection, the program's Info Box will refresh the data of the Default Library Object in the currently loaded Libraries, then will switch to Arrow Tool mode. This opeartion will be carried out even when the Info Box is not shown.
This can cause speed problems when the default Library Object is one that will slowly build up the Info Box information. Unfortunately, this is the case with Project Archives created with ArchiCAD versions prior to AC 8. When using these in AC 8, the default Library Object is the Schedule_Element.gsm file used by the Interactive Schedule Add-On. Because of this, the deselection of a Library Object can take several second for the program to complete.
