Supported Image Types
Image formats supported by ArchiCAD 8.0
ArchiCAD 8.0 is relying on Apple's Quicktime Engine to handle image files. The different file formats supported are listed below.
- Image types supported during Import
- Image types supported during Export
- Default settings used when saving image files
Imported Image File Formats by the QuickTime 4.0
- QuickTime 2.5 and later supports:
- QuickDraw PICT
- QuickTime Image
- MacPaint
- Photoshop (versions 2.5 and 3.0)
- Silicon Graphics
- GIF
- JFIF/JPEG
including JPEG 2000 (on MacOSX only) & Motion JPEG - QuickDraw GX Picture (if QuickDraw GX is installed).
- QuickTime 3 and later adds:
- BMP
- PNG
- TGA
- TIFF

Exported Image File Formats by QuickTime 4.0:
QuickTime provides a standard interface for exporting graphics to image files in a variety of formats. QuickTime selects a graphic exporter component based on the desired output format, such as GIF or PNG. Different image formats support a wide range of configurable features, such as depth, resolution and compression quality.
QuickTime 4 supports the following export image formats:
