Symbol Linetypes cause crash at saving as DWG/DXF
Written by László Nagy
If your ArchiCAD 8 Project contains symbol linetypes, ArchiCAD might crash in very rare cases when trying to save as DWG/DXF file. There are 3 different ways to solve this problem:
- Create linetype conversion entries in the DWG/DXF Template file you are using. In the Save as DWG/DXF Dialog, select the Template file to be used, then click the 'Settings in Selected Translator' arrow. Find the Attributes\Line types\Linetype-linetype conversion part and click on the 'New' button at the bottom of the screen. In the appearing Dialog, specify the ArchiCAD linetype (or select it from the drop-down list) and type in the name of the linetype that will correspond to this linetype in AutoCAD.
- Eliminate the symbol linetype that is causing trouble entirely, and substitute it with some other linetype (preferably a simple, non-symbol linetype).
- Recreate the symbol used in the symbol linetype in such way so that it does not contain any arcs, only line segments.
