Unlinked Section/Elevation still editable and containing old data after Send/Receive
Written by László Nagy
If a user has a Section/Elevation reserved for him in a Teamwork project and he unlinks it from the model then he will have lines and fills in that Window. However, after sending and receiving changes the Section/Elevation reverts back to an editable 3D model. Not only the fills and lines created during the Unlink operation will be there but also data from the model. The model data will reflect the state of the Project File just prior to the Unlink operation. Moreover, if any new construction element is placed on the Floor Plan and the Section/Elevation is rebuilt, these newly created elements will not appear in the Section/Elevation and the content of the window will get unlinked from the model and model data is not editable again. After every Send/Receive this same phenomenon repeats itself. The problem will appear only if the model data is already extant in a Section/Elevation window at the time of the Sign In of the user. This means someone has earlier created the Section/Elevation line on the Floor Plan and opened it at least once to cause its 3D model data to be generated.
Workaround: Sign in with exclusive access before unlinking a Section/Elevation (that is: when creating a drawing out of a model. If you already have an incorrect Section/Elevation, then Sign In with exclusive access and issue a Rebuild from Model command. Use this method and do not just delete the elements because it will remove the elements from the Floor Plan, too.
