PlotFlow 2.52 for Macintosh
We found the following problem in PlotFlow 2.51 run on Mac OS X 10.1 and Mac OS X 10.2 [Jaguar] in the Classic environment:
If PlotFlow was used with a Spool folder and the queue was started by default, it may happen that Plotflow starts sending the files plotted by ArchiCAD or PlotMaker to the plotter before they were finished.
This happens because PlotFlow cannot recognize if the file is still open by another application. This problem only occurs when PlotFlow is run in the Classic environment of Mac OS X 10.1 or Mac OS X 10.2; there's no problem when Plotflow is run on OS 9.2.
After analyzing this problem we found that it can only be solved on Mac OS X 10.2 [Jaguar] due to some different system function implementations in Mac OS X 10.1.
Important: The problem could not be solved in the case of the Spool Folder located on a network volume.
There are no problems if PlotFlow 2.51 is run on Mac OS 9.x.
As a workaround for Mac OS X.1 we suggest that by default the queue should be stopped and only started manually after PlotMaker or ArchiCAD have finished plotting.
The solution for OS X.2 users who are using PlotFlow in the Classic environment is to download PlotFlow 2.52 and replace version 2.51 with it.
Note: the problem described above is only solved with PlotFlow 2.52 when the Spool Folder is on a local volume.
The table below summerizes the situation:
|Spool Folder:||Mac OS 9.x||Mac OS X 10.1||Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar)|
"X" means that the queue must be stopped by default to avoid Data Loss.
"OK" means that the queue can be started by default.
