ArchiCAD 9 Special Edition Library

What is the AC 9 Special Edition Library?

The Special Edition Library and a new startup file were developed specially for the US market. The library contains many new features and enhancements compared to the ArchiCAD 9 US Library, including brand new doors, windows and many other objects. In developing this library, we involved our ArchiCAD users and considered their requests and feedback during specification and testing. The library is available as a free download for license owners of ArchiCAD 9 US version.

Corrections in the Special Edition Library Update

• SE9 version suffix added to each object's name so that it can be loaded parallel with the ArchiCAD 9 library
• Textures , background pictures and list templates have been removed from the library archive (pla) and moved to separate folders so that users can freely unload or modify them
• Parameter transfer between different types of doors and windows fixed
• Different materials can be assigned to the inside and outside of the doors and windows
• Window size can be entered correctly in the editable hotspot's pet palette
• Sash setback parameter added to windows
• Brick arch and sill functions corrected in case of ganged windows and doors
• No hotspot editing of window size allowed in case of typical sizes
• Correct 2D and 3D if the brick sill is turned off for metal windows
• Simple brick sill position fixed

Compatibility

1. The updated version includes the correction of important bugs and it's fully compatible with the original SE library.
   Note that the two libraries cannot be loaded together as it will result duplicate error messages. In order to update your existing projects, please unload the old SE library and load the updated version via the Library Manager.
2. The updated SE library can be loaded together with the ArchiCAD9 US library without any error messages since we have added a version suffix to each objects name. In this case the texture, background picture and list templates folders from the updated SE library have to be removed (unloaded) in the Library Manager
3. Note that the AC9 objects in your existing projects will not be replaced with the SE library elements since their Globally Unique ID (GUID) and name is different.

Installation

1. If you have installed the first version of AC9 Special Edition library and the corresponding startup file please delete them from your ArchiCAD folder. Make sure to make a backup copy of your customized objects.
2. Download and read the AC9 Special Edition Library Manual before starting the work.
3. Download the compressed updated SE library files from the library update web site and uncompress them on your computer.
4. Move the AC9 Library Special Edition folder and the AC9 Special Edition StartUp.tpl file into your ArchiCAD folder.

For best performance and compatibility, we recommend using the SE library with the new startup template. For this you have to do the following:

1. Start ArchiCAD
2. Select File/ New…
3. Choose Use a template
4. Select the AC9 Special Edition StartUp.tpl from the ArchiCAD folder
5. The AC9 Library Special Edition will be automatically loaded if you have placed it in the ArchiCAD folder
