Compatibility

The downloadable library is fully compatible with the AC9 US Library thus you can update your existing AC9 projects with it. Please note that we changed the name of the library archive file from "Object Library 9.pla" to "ArchiCAD Library 9.pla" in order to return to the naming convention that was introduced in the AC8.1 version. Please read "Instructions" below for how to update your existing ArchiCAD projects. We have created a new template file that is also available for download from this site. We recommend using it for new projects since it contains better material and fill attributes.

Instructions

Download the compressed library and startup file and uncompress them on your computer.

Starting a new project

1. Start the ArchiCAD 9 US version
2. Open the downloaded "US Startup 9.tpl" from File/New…/Use a template
3. Load the "ArchiCAD Library 9.pla" in Library Manager
4. Save the project file

Updating and existing ArchiCAD 9 project

1. Start the ArchiCAD 9 US version
2. Open the existing project file
3. Unload the "Object Library 9.pla" in Library Manager
4. Load the "ArchiCAD Library 9.pla" in Library Manager
5. Save the project file

Corrections

The downloadable library contains the following new features and corrections compared to the ArchiCAD 9 US library.

Doors and Windows

• Plan symbol of frames corrected in case of curved walls
• Wall contour line types adjustable for doors in curved wall
• Cavity closure plan symbol corrected in "Simple" mode
• 3D opening line direction changed according to US standards
• Minor bug fixes

Curtain Wall

• Parameter value limitation introduced for mullions. Incorrect values can't be set.

Steel Beams

• Stationary point parameter added for beams. Option to place the beams at top or bottom.
• Hotlines added for beams axis to make dimensioning easier.

Bench 03

• Plan symbol corrected to match the 3D model

Cab Belfast Sink 1D

• Tap Type 7 corrected

Built-in Wardrobe

helf size corrected for the sliding door option

Stairs

• Scale display fixed in user interface

Basic shapes

Cylinder: 3D model corrected Lamps

• Wall Lamp 02: GDL error fixed if light is switched off

Textures

• New texture files were added to the library to be compatible with the latest startup file

New Startup template file

• A new template file was created with updated material and fill attributes.
• Textures represented correctly in OpenGL,AC Rendering and Lightworks views
• Correct 3D fills assigned to materials
