3. Design evaluation

These clips will show you how ArchiCAD's Virtual Building model supports the design evaluation process by providing rich visual and textual information for all the various design alternatives, and by automatically handling tedious and error-prone tasks of updating the different project views.

3.1. Working with stories [00:24]

ArchiCAD's true Story concept helps you to create new stories with specific heights, and also to copy existing building elements from previously-created stories to help your design development work.

3.2. Creating new stories [00:19]

Using ArchiCAD 9, you can create new stories on-the-fly, specifying custom name, height and elevation values immediately.

3.3. The Ghost Story [00:43]

The Ghost Story feature gives you the option of showing the elements of another story throughout your work. You can even take-off the properties from any Ghost Story element and use these element settings to create new elements of the current story.

3.4. Exploded 3D view - the Marquee tool [00:51]

With the help of ArchiCAD's Marquee tool you can select any part of your design to be displayed in the 3D window for further design development.

3.5. Working in the 3D window [01:13]

Every single parametric building element in ArchiCAD provides with you various editing and configuring options, while you have constant visual feedback on the design context and related elements in the 3D window.

3.6. Searching library parts [00:34]

There are over 1,000 parametric library parts shipped with ArchiCAD (out of the box). You can freely search between these building elements based on custom keywords and using different criteria.

3.7. Working with integrated Sections and Elevations [00:39]

Project views in ArchiCAD are fully integrated. Creating new windows in a Section view, in order to match the window distribution on the floor below, will result in the floor plan-view automatically and immediately updating.

3.8. Intereactive element schedules [01:07]

ArchiCAD's "intelligent" and interactive element schedules provide you two-way communication between the schedules and your project design. This ensures that last-minute changes will retain their accuracy and consistency between the model and the generated documentation.
