Limitations in the Google Earth Connection for Archicad package Windows 64-bit and OSX versions

The automated data exchange between Archicad 64-bit edition and Google Earth, Google Warehouse and SketchUp is not available due to technical limitations. Read more about the suggested manual communication workflow below:

  1. The automated data exchange between Archicad Windows 64-bit / OS X edition and Google Warehouse / SketchUP is not available due to technical limitations. The suggested manual communication workflow between these programs is the following:

    Google Warehouse object conversion to Archicad

    1. Download the object manually from Google Warehouse in Google SketchUP format (.skp).
    2. Import the object into Archicad using the SketchUP I/O converter add-on.

    1. Export the scene from Archicad using the SketchUP I/O converter add-on.
    2. Upload the scene manually to Google Warehouse in Google SketchUP format (.skp) from a web browser.
  2. The automated data exchange between Archicad Windows 64-bit / OS X edition and Google Earth is not available due to technical limitations. The suggested manual communication workflow between these programs is the following:

    Google Earth geo location information import to Archicad

    1. Mark the terrain’s typical points with placemarks in Google Earth.
    2. Export the placemarks either individually or as a group from Google Earth in .kmz/.kml format.
    3. Import the .kmz/.kml files into Archicad using the Google Earth I/O converter add-on.

    Note: Only scenes that contain stored geo location information can be imported into Google Earth
