The portfolio

Hailing from Cuenca Ecuador, INAI Arquitectura delivers high-end architecture using local materials to create their own unique design language. By passing traditional shapes through a modern lens, the team carries on the Andean origins of their location, honoring the region’s language, emotion, and spirit throughout their work.

Using Archicad and BIMx at work, the team’s recent projects saw them work simultaneously with engineering, landscaping, and construction professionals. By managing parallel workflows through seamless collaboration from different locations, they were able to complete projects remotely, in record time.

High quality at a global standard

To realize their mission of tropicalizing contemporary architecture, INAI Arquitectura’s architects go above and beyond high-level interior design work in their diverse projects, crafting original pieces down to the furniture textures and doorknobs. Their projects are created with the mission to make an impact on people, emphasizing the high quality of their work on a global scale. They use Archicad as a creative tool that enhances their work from communication to delivery.

Custom Library
Designing the final details

When it comes to designing in Archicad, the team makes full use of custom library element creation. Designing projects down to the last detail lets them communicate projects exactly as they envision them to the client. The team’s final files include minute details like custom flower pots and door locks. With this level of attention paid in the design phase, the resulting projects are constructed as close to the original design intent as possible.

Create custom parametric objects for your Archicad library with the Library Part Maker* add-on or PARAM-O*, a built-in parametric design tool in Archicad.

A woman with long hair and a thoughtful expression gazes to the side, perhaps pondering her next Archicad design. She wears a necklace with a round pendant and a dark top. The background is softly blurred, suggesting an indoor setting where innovative Graphisoft ideas come to life.

We use Archicad as a creative tool that enhances our work, designing furniture for spaces, flower pots, furniture textures, doors, and even doorlocks – pushing the boundaries of what’s considered possible with the software.

OPEN BIM
The image showcases the Open BIM logo, prominently featuring OPEN in stark white within a vibrant red rounded rectangle, followed by BIM in bold black on a pristine white background—a design celebrated by Graphisoft for its seamless integration with their BIMx platform.
Building luxury with OPEN BIM

INAI had the chance to break ground with the Casa El Vergel house, working with the client in each stage of the design to deliver luxury in a tight schedule. IFC exports and 3D models let the team coordinate construction simultaneously with structural, lighting and landing processes, doing so efficiently. By running initial structural modeling tests in Archicad, and exporting models into analytical software the architecture and engineering departments were successfully linked.

Another critical time-saver was the quantification of the design. The team could rapidly create a bill of materials and a budget for the client using the parameters in the model. What was done with tape measures and cumbersome measurement sessions on site could be accessed and client approved in a snappy export process.

IFC is a very valued tool and most of all it is a time-saving tool.

Remote Collaboration

Communicating on the go with BIMx

Using BIMx in each project, the team could coordinate smoothly with each professional involved, and let the client walk through the spaces before they were even built. Each branch used the same BIMx file, updating everything from design to landscape architecture simultaneously. This let the team make decisions on the go, through to the construction phase. Using Archicad as a universal language between each stakeholder, the project could be developed and improved anywhere in the world – opening doors for improved collaboration and international projects.
