BIM Data
An Archicad model can be described as a central BIM database that stores all project data and makes it accessible to any project stakeholder.
To use the CALHYDRA Connection workflow, make sure you have imported the required CALHYDRA BIM data packages to your MEP Designer project:
MEP Route Specification Material
This ZIP package includes XML files of MEP pipe and fitting materials from manufacturers supported in CALHYDRA. These data ensure accurate calculations and correct dimension mapping.
- Download the CALHYDRA – MEP-Route-Specification Material file.
- In your MEP Designer project: in the Route Specifications dialog, click Import, then browse for the downloaded package and import the files you need.

CALHYDRA relies on Classifications to understand what each element represents. You will need these XML classification files to classify all MEP Designer pipe system elements to be calculated with CALHYDRA.
- Download the CALHYDRA Classification file (available in English and German).
- In your MEP Designer project: in the Classification Manager, click Import, then browse for the downloaded file.
