ARCHICAD 6.o Takes Top Honors in Bay Area Design Competition

San Francisco, CA - June 4, 1999

Architects using Graphisoft's ARCHICAD 6.o won several key awards in the competition in conjunction with the Seventh Annual Bay Area Architectural Computer Graphics Exhibit.

The exhibit features images produced from the melding of state-of-the-art technology with design and architecture. Works were submitted by 67 architects and graphic specialists from the San Francisco Bay Area. The entries were judged in eight categories and six special Judge's Choice awards.

The following awards went to projects created in ARCHICAD:

"The Architectural Record 'Record Houses' CD-ROM was an exciting 3D project, and a pleasure to develop," said ARCHVIEW's Simmons. "Because of ARCHICAD's elegant and easy-to-use 3D capabilities, we developed our images far more quickly than we could have with any other A/E/C CAD software. Several of these images are now being used as examples of the state of the art, because of their dynamism and visual splendor."

The exhibit sponsor, the San Francisco chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIASF), will display all entries at its offices at 130 Sutter St., Suite 600, San Francisco, through June 18, 1999. The exhibit will then move to the East Bay American Institute of Architects.
