Graphisoft Main Sponsor of German FM Association's Research Competition

Winner awarded Graphisoft ArchiFM license, in addition to monetary prize

Munich, March 08, 2001 - GEFMA (German Facility Management Association) is committed to furthering education and training in facility management. The association will award the GEFMA Prize on March 21 to scholars in facility management for their exemplary studies. In addition to its sponsoring contribution, Graphisoft is donating a DEM 32,000 ArchiFM license to the winner.

This is the fourth year that GEFMA has invited students to submit their dissertations or thesis papers for consideration in the competition. The studies must deal with facility management concepts or improvement in the field of communication, the efficient use of a building, service, maintenance, security or energy supply. Studies containing practical knowledge and focusing on useful results are particularly encouraged.

"Graphisoft's company philosophy and its Virtual Building™ concept clearly support the practical approach in facility management, which is reflected in our FM solution, ArchiFM," said Wolfgang Reinecke, Graphisoft's facility management director. "CAFM is a key issue for the future that should be supported today."

In previous years, studies describing FM process of a clinic, a technical building management project and the implementation of a CAFM system were awarded. This is the first year in the history of the competition that the prizes will total more than DEM 10,000, with DEM 5,000 offered to the first prize winner.

A jury of university teachers, industry professionals and GEFMA representatives will judge the submitted works. The prizes will be awarded on March 21 at the FM show in Düsseldorf. Other sponsors include ABB Building Technics, Frankfurt am Main Airport and Phillip Holzmann.
