Japanese design-build firm introduces ARCHICAD
JOW Corporation opts for ARCHICAD to spearhead drive for 3D modeling and greater productivity
Tokyo, August 09, 2005 - JOW Corporation has committed to drive greater productivity and design freedom into its architectural processes by introducing ARCHICAD® as its virtual modeling tool.
The company, headquartered in Matsuyama, Shikoku Island of Japan, employs over 400 people and has annual revenues of 26 billion Yen. It designs and constructs apartment blocks, shops and family houses and has long been analyzing more productive design solutions to meet huge growth in its business volume.
JOW Corporation focused on the 3D architectural design solution, ARCHICAD, following notable successes in the region. JOW carried out a thorough, year-long benchmarking and validation survey. The company was so satisfied with the test results that it decided back in April, 2005, to purchase 22 ARCHICAD licenses. Following training, JOW has assigned 30 designers to begin modeling apartment buildings.
Masayuki Takeda, head of the Architectural Design Division, explains the company's commitment to Graphisoft ARCHICAD: "We find the greatest benefit of 3D design is the production of accurate and integrated documents, automatically generated from the 3D model. We can also handle modifications and changes with flexibility. As a result, we can not only dramatically improve our productivity, but also cut our outsourcing expenses for drawing generation. In addition to this, with its powerful presentation capability, ARCHICAD will help improve our communication with, and satisfaction of, our clients."
ARCHICAD helps users to win more business by assisting them to design more creatively, analyze earlier, generate documentation rapidly and efficiently coordinate projects both internally and externally. In a recent global Return-on-Investment Survey, ARCHICAD on average was found to contribute 12% to a practice's profit, and lift productivity by 39%.
"JOW has taken a significant step in gearing up for a future in which clients, building owners and General Constructors alike will all expect to view, analyze and construct from a detailed Virtual Building™ model," said Nobuhiro Hara, General Manager of Graphisoft Japan. "ARCHICAD delivers a powerful, highly effective and wholly natural process change in design as it has been developed by architects for architects and used on millions of buildings... so far!"
