Archicad 29.1.0

In this Update, we introduce a handful of new features related to library management, collaboration, MEP design and more:

With the new Connection of MEP Designer with CALHYDRA, users can run precise, European and German standard-compliant hydraulic calculations and simulations directly on their piping models. This enables accurate and efficient pipe resizing with high confidence.

When opening an older project in a newer Archicad version, users can now update all loaded library packages to the current version in just a few clicks using the new Replace All Packages option in the Library Manager. This provides a simpler and smoother library upgrade workflow and reduces manual updates.

Users can now use the Bluebeam Connection Add-on in Archicad 29 with servers in all five supported regions (Germany, UK, Australia, US, Sweden). As a result, users can comply with data residency requirements, follow internal IT policies, and collaborate reliably with stakeholders in their region.

We optimized BIMx export to produce smaller files more quickly. This makes projects load multiple times faster on web and desktop platforms.

Users can now label hydronic systems with calculation results directly in floor plans and interactive schedules, with clear marking of individual sections. This ensures MEP documentation always reflects up-to-date calculations, enhancing reliability and reducing the risk of manual mistakes.

• We fixed an issue where Sections no longer crash when used with Grid tools. (DEF-24876)
• Resolved an issue where Keynote Labels could shift from their pointers when the layout’s drawing scale was changed. (DEF-24845)
• We fixed an issue where open Section or Elevation views triggered unnecessary drawing updates. (DEF-20892)
• Resolved a crash that occurred when opening layouts in Teamwork projects; layouts now open reliably. (DEF-19959)
• We fixed a crash that occurred due to an unexpected print dialog ID during printing. (DEF-26518)
• We fixed a crash that occurred when entering custom text in a door schedule. (DEF-14724)

Project data & BIM

• We fixed an issue where Archicad could not find available online templates when starting a new project. (DEF-26160)
• We fixed an issue where selecting certain drawings could cause Archicad to freeze. (DEF-24877)
• Resolved a crash caused by double formatting with strings containing additional % characters. (DEF-9004)

Collaboration

• We fixed an issue where IFC property values created through third-party add-ons were not exported correctly from Archicad 28. (DEF-25864)
• Resolved an issue where IFC files exported from Revit showed displaced elements or incorrect dimensions in Archicad. (DEF-24900)
• We fixed a crash that occurred when importing IFC files containing comments. Such files now open correctly in Archicad regardless of the translator used. (DEF-24590)

Licensing

• We fixed an issue where Archicad could lose its cloud-based BIMcloud license after a period of inactivity. (DEF-26136)
• Resolved an issue where cloud licensing failed in Archicad when computer names contained brackets or special characters. (DEF-24949)
• All floating license seats are now reported with a clear and accurate error message. (DEF-23849)

Modelling

• We fixed a crash that occurred while creating certain walls. (DEF-23756)
• Design option combinations no longer duplicate when elements are marked as modified, avoiding freezes or instability. (DEF-22997)
• Automatic intersections now correctly ignore Walls and Beams on hidden Design Options, preventing unintended geometry. (DEF-17110)

Visualization

• We resolved a Cineware issue on macOS that could make rendering unavailable for some users, including Redshift rendering. (DEF-26799)
• Addressed a problem where display scaling affected 3D view dimensions, particularly in two-point perspective. (DEF-25544)

Teamwork & BIMcloud

• We implemented a fix that prevents duplicated layer combination settings, which could cause issues with Teamwork Send & Receive as well as for solo users. (DEF-26691)
• We fixed an issue where Keynote labels could be replaced in Teamwork projects without reserving the element. (DEF-26134)

BIMx

• Large texture images now export correctly in BIMx from Archicad 28 without needing compression. (DEF-24712)

MEP

• We fixed an issue where 2D or 3D view exports omitted or misassigned MEP elements; exports now match the active story accurately. (DEF-25562)
• The MEP System Browser now displays correctly when Dark Mode is active. (DEF-25457)

Cosmetic & Translations

• Leftover empty windows in Archicad 29 on macOS no longer appear and interfere with normal use. (DEF-26526)
• We fixed an issue in Archicad 28 CHI where learning materials and sample projects were missing from the Learning tab. (DEF-26083)
• Text display has been corrected so that translations appear fully and correctly in all supported languages. (DEF-25736)
