The Candidate:
We are seeking an Architectural Graduate to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with the project lead, the wider team, contractors, consultants, and clients to assist in the design and development of diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop/ amend under the guidance of the project lead concept and detail designs by CAD and by hand
- Research and develop solutions to architectural problems
- Research project briefs, materials and construction products and systems
- Establish and integrate technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings, including preparation of drawings for planning and building control approval, tender and construction purposes
- Prepare presentation materials by CAD and by hand for internal and external purposes and incorporate feedback
- Attend relevant internal and external meetings, take minutes/ notes and follow up on action points
- Liaise with members of the external design team and other stakeholders as required

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field (Master’s degree is preferable)
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in the industry
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit, MS Office and Adobe Suite. Experience with ArchiCAD is advantageous but not essential, as training is provided
- Knowledge and experience of BIM is preferable
- The ability to work effectively in a team and add value to their collaboration
- The ability to be self-motivated and organised to add value to our excellent team
- The ability to produce concept drawings and models under direction from the Project Architect
- Experience in preparing planning and working drawing construction packages and good knowledge of Irish building regulations, planning policy and quality standards
- A keen eye for detail, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadline
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working on large-scale projects (hospitality, residential, or commercial)
- Full right to work in the Republic of Ireland

The Candidate:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and detailed design of architectural projects
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate technical drawings and specifications
- Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure consistency and adherence to design intent
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and compliance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and innovations in technology
- Oversee Building Control Management System (BCMS) and Assigned Certifier compliance for projects
- Manage contract administration and project certification processes
- Provide expert advice on materials, construction technology, and design methodologies

Requirements:
- Educational Background: Degree in Architectural Technology.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and BIM is essential. Experience with ArchiCAD, Photoshop, and InDesign is a plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Proficiency in the BCMS platform and a thorough understanding of Irish Building Regulations (including Parts B, L & M), the B(C)AR process, and Health and Safety requirements.
- Planning Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the Planning Permission process and requirements.
- Construction Detailing: Strong knowledge of construction detailing.
- Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

We’re growing — and we’re on the hunt for brilliant, qualified Architects and Architectural Assistants ready to shape the future of sustainable design. At Gbolade Design Studio, we deliver architecture that’s socially responsive, environmentally intelligent, and unapologetically bold. We are currently looking to engage an Experienced Architect to join our small and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have excellent design skills and construction knowledge with a strong focus on sustainable design (or a willingness to develop expert knowledge in this). The successful Architect will take a leading role in delivering projects with excellence in design and sustainability. GDS have a strong varied portfolio: from mixed-use masterplans, to residential developments, Retrofit-At-Scale, place-shaping schemes to Sustainability / Design Code Guidance.

The Architect will therefore need to be a good all-rounder: in both design and delivery stages of architectural design. We're particularly keen to hear from candidates with UK Retrofit PAS2035 experience. The candidate will also contribute to project bid work; as well as supporting members of the design team with on-going schemes and internal GDS Design Guidance. Alongside traditional architecture, successful candidates will be expected to be involved in practice-life; from exciting opportunities such as curating our own exhibitions to being involved in wider industry events that the practice is committed to. The candidate will:
• Be a ARB Registered Architect (if successful to interview stage, you will be required to provide evidence of your certification) • Have worked Experience across all RIBA Stages 0-7
• Have 5+ years UK work experience post Part 3
• Have a minimum of 3 years on-site experience
• Have led projects from commencement to completion
• Have managed project consultant teams including Structural / MEPH / specialist consultants
• Possess excellent job-running and site experience at all RIBA stages
• Possess excellent/in-depth technical knowledge

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday 9am -5:30pm.
