The new e-commerce site joins Objects Online in offering 24-hour access to in-demand tools
Budapest, October 31, 2000 — Two of Graphisoft’s third party developers, Archi-data and Stable Technologies, have teamed to launch the AddOnStore (www.add-onstore.com), an Internet storefront aimed at Archicad users. The site will offer a wealth of tools not available through other channels, including Archicad add-ons such as GDL Toolbox, ArchiDesigner:Openings and StairMaker Handrails, as well as intelligent 3D representations of building components, for immediate purchase and download.
“The Internet is the ideal way for Archicad users to get the latest information and products,” said Tamás Hinsenkamp, CEO of ArchiData Ltd. “The AddOnStore also provides developers and publishers of these products a fast and effective way to bring their products to the market.”
One of the unique features of the site is the option for customers to download a trial version of an add-on. Once satisfied that the product meets their needs, they can return to the site to purchase a registration code for full access.
“With the release of our API (Application Programming Interface) developer kit in 1998, the market for third party developers to create special tools for Archicad has become unlimited,” said Bence Kovács, Director of Product Marketing. “Graphisoft recommends sites like the AddOnStore, because they spur the creation of more useful tools and can put those tools in the hands of our users all over the world.”
Encouraging the growth of such online enterprises furthers the Company’s own e-commerce strategy: to encourage building product manufacturers to publish their product catalogs electronically using Graphisoft’s object language, GDL (Geometric Description Language). In August, Graphisoft announced an investment in Objects Online (www.objectsonline.com), the premiere online distributor of intelligent 3D objects in the United States. The site’s visitors can purchase applications, add-ons, as well as GDL objects that can be downloaded for use in their architectural projects.
