Beta Tester Praises Archicad 7.0

First market feedback shows huge productivity gains with new functionality

MUNICH/BUDAPEST, April 19, 2001 – Graphisoft, developer of the pioneering 3D model-based architectural CAD software Archicad, recently introduced Archicad 7.0 at the CeBIT trade show in Germany. Since early January, 50 architectural offices worldwide have been thoroughly beta testing the new version in their everyday work, on actual projects.

“Stable software products are top priority for us,” says Johannes Reischböck, CEO of Graphisoft Germany Ltd. and board member of Graphisoft N.V. “Our beta testers assist us in the last phase of product development by closely scrutinizing the software’s practical usability.”
The architectural office Dietzel & Partner Architekten has used Archicad for ten years. With eight employees and a six-digit annual revenue, the office specializes in the design of commercial buildings like banks, insurance companies and renovation projects. The office has already worked on three projects with Archicad 7.0, totalling more than 5,000 sq. meters and including detailed workplans.
“The new tools in Archicad 7.0 contribute to a considerable productivity gain in the planning phase,” said Michael Dietzel, CEO of Dietzel & Partner Architekten. “The DXF/DWG file management options for both the design team and the builder, as well as TrussMaker are major advantages.”
