Budapest – May 16, 2000 – Graphisoft today announced a special development agreement
with RIK Co. Ltd. of Japan, creator of Success, a market-leading CAD solution for exterior
and garden design. Graphisoft will provide RIK with a version of its flagship architectural
CAD solution, Archicad, tailored for exteriors design. RIK will add to this hundreds of
custom objects created using Graphisoft’s GDL (Geometric Description Language) 3D
object technology.
Called Success 21, this new solution will provide all the necessary design and documentation
tools needed by exterior and garden designers, in the integrated and object-oriented 3D
Virtual Building™ environment. Success 21 is to take over the current solution which is
developed on the VectorWorks CAD engine. States Mr. Hotta, president of RIK, “We are
extremely confident that Archicad is the right foundation for our next generation solution,
and our users will benefit from being able to use intelligent, real-life objects in their designs.”
“We are pleased to be able to offer the same intelligent and intuitive design environment to
the Japanese exteriors design community that Japanese architects already enjoy with
Archicad,” says Nobuhiro Hara, General Manager and President of Graphisoft Japan.
Beginning in June 2000, RIK will distribute Success-21 exclusively, and expects to sell at least
500 copies a year in the Japanese market.
