-Assist with the officewide Building Information Model (BIM) Program including; proactively implement system processes that align with evolving business needs and align with firm strategy, manage ongoing system maintenance
-Develop, maintain, and administer BIM office templates, libraries, drawing and graphic standards
-Maintain standards and processes for the production of construction documents, data exchange and coordination with consultants and contractors
-Assist Project Leadership with preliminary site and context development at project beginning, as needed
-Audit active files for performance and organization
-Assist with maintaining BIM Server for user access, roles, and permissions
-Manage and deliver ongoing training programs to enhance firm skills and knowledge.
-Develop and thoughtfully maintain related documentation and training resources on firmwide intranet; regularly and proactively informing office about available resources
-Collaborate with BIM & Visualization leadership on maintaining digital assets for Archicad and Twinmotion libraries
-Resolve daily “how-to” questions and troubleshooting issues
-Efficiently manage BIM Server backup schedule and file recovery logs, deployments and coordinate software updates for BIM server and user machines
-Other related IT or Architectural Operations duties as assigned

-Undergraduate degree in Architecture, Business, Technology or other related field strongly preferred
-Minimum 2 years or more of BIM modeling experience in a design office environment (ArchiCAD preferred)
-Preferred knowledge of Cadimage Tools and add-ons; Doors & Windows and Coverings
-Knowledge of visualization and presentation software (i.e. Twinmotion, Adobe CS)
-Understanding and mastery of IFC Coordination
-Minimum basic knowledge of OpenBim Standards
-Preferred knowledge of GDL scripting
-Expert level understanding of BIM project workflows and management
-Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills
-Proven experience training users with varying levels of BIM usage
-Ability to balance multiple projects and maintain progress in several areas concurrently
-Self-motivated work ethic

Job Requirements:
• Completed a five-year architectural degree or Masters in Architecture
• Licensed Architect or is on path to licensure
• Experience at all levels welcome 
• Professional experience in multifamily residential projects (preferred)
• Understanding zoning and building code regulations (preferred)
• BIM modeling experience (ArchiCad preferred)
• Demonstrates strong technical and graphic skills
• Possesses creativity, self-discipline, strong leadership, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversight and guidance throughout the project lifecycle including design concept, project requirements, drawing and specification development, and construction administration

• The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:

Position Overview

Anderson Studio of Architecture & Design is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist / Construction Documents Specialist to play a critical role in the technical execution of our high-end custom residential projects.

This is a senior-level, individual contributor role focused on translating design intent into clear, coordinated, and buildable architectural documents. The position emphasizes technical judgment, constructability, and execution excellence rather than people management, client leadership, or project financial responsibility.

The ideal candidate is deeply experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated by the satisfaction of producing precise, thoughtful construction documentation that supports both design integrity and successful construction.

Core Responsibilities

Lead the technical development of architectural drawings through Design Development and Construction Documents

Produce clear, consistent, and well-coordinated drawing sets suitable for permitting and construction

Develop detailed architectural assemblies that reflect design intent, constructability, and long-term performance

Coordinate architectural scope with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty consultants

Identify and resolve conflicts between architectural intent and consultant systems

Anticipate constructability challenges and proactively propose technical solutions

Support construction-phase documentation through RFI responses, submittal review, and technical clarification

Collaboration & Studio Integration

Work within project teams led by Project Managers

Collaborate closely with the Design Director to ensure faithful execution of design intent

Provide technical insight that supports documentation quality, clarity, and schedule predictability

Contribute to studio-wide technical rigor through example, collaboration, and shared standards

Qualifications

Degree in architecture, architectural technology, engineering science, or a related technical discipline

Minimum of 12 years of experience producing construction documents for custom residential or similarly complex projects

Demonstrated expertise in building assemblies, detailing, and consultant coordination

Proficiency in BIM-based documentation workflows (ArchiCAD preferred; Revit acceptable)

Compensation & Benefits

Full-time, exempt position

Salary commensurate with experience and demonstrated technical capability, ranging between $70,000 – $90,000

Eligibility for performance-based bonuses

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative Architectural Designer + Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will create detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications for new homes, renovations, and additions, while collaborating closely with clients to understand their lifestyle needs, design preferences, and project goals. You will coordinate and integrate the work of structural, mechanical, and other consultants to ensure smooth project delivery, and conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and verify that work complies with design documents and applicable residential building codes. Additional responsibilities include preparing project schedules, progress reports, and updating budgets throughout all phases of design and construction, while providing proactive support to the firm’s principals and project teams.

To be considered for the Architectural Designer + Project Manager position, candidates must have a Professional Architectural Degree with architectural training, overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of architectural projects, along with the following qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of residential design experience, including detailing and project management
• Proficiency in CAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp
• Experience with 2D rendering and 3D modeling in various design platforms
• ArchiCAD experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and MA state regulations
• Licensure preferred
