Graphisoft Announces "SalesCAD" for 3D Computer-Aided Sales

Austrian retailer BauMax-x to debut SalesCAD workstations in stores across Central Europe

Budapest/Vienna – November 11, 1998
Graphisoft (Frankfurt Neuer Markt: GPH), a leading provider of CAD software for architects and building professionals announced “SalesCAD”, a new software product to facilitate and accelerate sales of building products and appliances to builders and homeowners. The Austrian retail chain bauMax-x will be the first customer
and debut SalesCAD workstations in its Mega-bauMax-x-Markets across Central Europe. The SalesCAD software has been customized for them with libraries of bauMax-x merchandise and tailored to the chain’s individual requirements.
Based on Graphisoft’s award winning Archicad, SalesCAD is a unique program developed specifically for retailers of kitchen and office furnishings and the retail building products industry. With a user interface and method of working similar to that of Archicad, SalesCAD’s features are streamlined for the retailing industry and operation by a sales associate. SalesCAD customers will be able to customize the user interface for their own stores and create 3D parametric libraries of the branded products that they sell. Using the program’s powerful visualization features, an associate will easily be able to illustrate interior options and furniture configurations in 3D for a customer and at any point during the planning session print 3D renderings and generate
quotes including a complete list of products, materials, services and retail prices.
“Our core Virtual Building concept and object technology offer vital advantages to building product retailers as well as other building professionals,” states Graphisoft Vice-president of New Business Development, Imre Pakozdi. “SalesCAD helps these retailers communicate better with their customers and tailor their products and price quotes to the individual customer’s needs.”
