How to Place a Storefront Window

In Archicad, you can only place an opening into a wall. Windows and doors cannot exist detached. Consequently, you must have placed at least one wall on your floor plan in order to place any window.

Choose the Window Tool from the Toolbox.

W1 Casement is the default window in Archicad. If you have opened your floor plan with Use Default Project Settings in the startup dialog or you have taken New & Reset All in the File menu, this default window object will be applied, unless you change the window settings from the menu. If you are not sure if this window object has been set, double-click on the Window Tool icon. The Window Default Settings dialog comes up. Choose the window object W Storefront 5. You will find it under Object Library 9
