Early Users Praise Graphisoft Archicad®8

“With Archicad®8 I have already begun working on several projects both new and old. I’m amazed and excited at the depth of the new tools. The implementation of OpenGL in the 3D window and on the plan is much faster and much better. The new content is excellent and additional 3D editing features make designing a lot more intuitive and fun. I will heartily encourage associates and acquaintances to upgrade to version 8,” exclaimed Mark Gillis of Gillis Design Group, USA.
“The new detail tools in Archicad®8 are very welcome – 2D work is much faster. I’m also excited about the new Layout Book which makes layouting a lot more intuitive and efficient,” stated Gábor Váradi, architect at Geografika, Hungary.

Improved Documentation Creation and Management

In response to user feedback, Archicad®8 boasts improved detailing and drafting features. The new Detail Tool expedites 2D work. Architects also benefit from improved customizable tools that help them better meet their own local standards and documentation style. New intuitive data entry methods further increase productivity in documentation by reducing tedious drafting work.
Organizing an entire project’s documentation is much easier with Archicad®8’s new layouting enhancements. Using the new Layout Book and its automatic time-saving features, architects can create documentation sets more efficiently. Layouts are directly connected to the building model ensuring that all drawing sheets are up-to-date with even last minute changes to the model.
“Archicad®8 offers architects the tools for increasing productivity in documentation that is crucial to their competitiveness,” said Bence Kovács, Graphisoft’s Vice President of Product Management. “We created the new Layout Book and Detail Tool specifically to address these demands.”

Extended Modeling Tool Set

Archicad®8 offers greater design capabilities with the implementation of solid operations based on Boolean Geometry. Complex shapes can now be modeled quickly and easily using an intuitive interface. Instant results in the 3D window provide users valuable design feedback. The use of Boolean Geometry offers the additional benefit of improved accuracy of bills of materials and other quantity surveys.

Streamlined Interface and Increased Navigation Speed

A new unified look-and-feel to the already easy-to-use interface with a revised and simplified menu structure makes Archicad®8 friendlier to both new and proficient users. Speed enhancements in the latest version include faster section generation and pan and zoom in real-time using the mouse scroll button.
