Graphisoft's Drawbase Subsidiary Wins Important Contract From U.S. Government

Department of Defense renews service and support agreement

Newton, MA — July 25,
2000 — Drawbase Software, a
wholly owned subsidiary of
Graphisoft and developer of
Drawbase® – an integrated
software solution used to
design,
draw, track, and manage
facilities – announced today
that the U.S. Department of
Defense
(DoD) has increased its Drawbase
licenses by 50 percent, and for
the third consecutive
year renewed the software
maintenance and support services
contract for the Defense
Medical Logistics Standard
Support (DMLSS) system.

In 1997, Drawbase software
was selected to help improve
medical logistics
responsiveness,
drive down costs, and provide a
high-quality integrated system
for the Department of
Defense medical facilities. The
goal of DMLSS is to meet the
needs of the medical treatment
and field medical units at a
competitive price, while
providing the best possible
medical
logistics Automated Information
System (AIS) for the DoD and
their health facilities
throughout the U.S.
“Drawbase has recently
completed a significant upgrade
to our DMLSS 2.02 release that
includes the addition of several
integrated features that provide
our customers with
one-button functions and
reports,” states Jim Aitkin,
DMLSS-FM project manager. “With
those advances and the solid
working relationship we’ve built
together, DMLSS is looking
forward to an even more
productive joint effort in the
coming year.”
Drawbase’s unique integration
of CAD drawings and database
management provides
DMLSS with space accounting,
compliant database management,
and safety management
software applications. Through
their implementation, DMLSS
managers have simplified
tools to validate, track,
coordinate, and proactively
manage facilities, instead of
being forced
into a “management by crisis”
mode.
“This renewal is a strong
indication of how the DMLSS
program has proven to what
extent
our flexible software can reduce
costs, maximize space, and
improve overall regulatory
compliance, maintenance and
management capabilities,” states
Dennis Ford, Drawbase
Software’s director of Federal
Systems Group.
